Moving to Weekly Updates- With everything uncertain how do we find stability?

As I have been doing daily posts since March 24, I am switching to weekly posts as of now. I took a break yesterday to celebrate my mom, mother in law, and fellow mothers.

We are currently living in a period of uncertainty, we do not know when things will go back to normal, what the new normal will look like, what the world will look like, when our economy will restart, when will jobs begin to return, when will we feel safe to go back out again, or how our business community and communities will fare depending upon reopening plans. As you know our local county has experienced a large amount of cases and deaths due to COVID-19. Our hearts go out to those who have been impacted by the disease physically and those who have lost loved ones.

I know that going stir crazy is a very popular feeling right now from our children to teens to adults to seniors. We all want to be safe, but we crave human contact and a better sense of what is going on. We feel like there is still hope, but the tunnel to get there is still long. We are all in this situation together. However, each person's experience during this time is different. We are all stressed, we are all worried, we all are concerned for our jobs or searching for new ones, and we all want to be safe and supported during this time.

How to find stability during this time?

  • Take it one day at a time
  • Breathe
  • Take mini breaks when necessary
  • Enjoy some time outdoors when and if you can
  • Increase fruit and vegetables intake and water consumption
  • Write a journal documenting your feelings (it will be a memento when all this is over about what we can overcome)
  • Reach out to a friend, family member, mentor, or colleague
